A Magical Holiday to you!

No matter what your belief, may you find yourself open to the flow of the Universe this Holiday Season and surrounded by people to Love and be Loved by.

Santa Claus is a planetary form in disguise; felt by those who are 'nice' not naughty - Jupiter protects those who trust and have faith in the good in life - good luck comes to those who walk secure in the knowledge that things work out.

So I hope Santa Claus has found you wherever you are today - the true gifts are the ones without wrapping that last throughout the year in those sneaky situations where you are saved, protected, made to laugh or think 'wow i can't believe my luck!'.

Santa Claus does exist - Astrologers know him as "Jupiter" - the ruler of Gifts, Good Fortune and Good Times. Attract him to you today, with a smile, and some holly-jolly belief that good things happen to people who truly 'believe' - that's Santa's secret, and it's not just for kids....

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays to you all!
From your Astrological Santa,
Neil xxx

Push 'n' Shove : Jupiter square Saturn Dec 17

Today, two biggies begin fighting it out for their say over which path to take.

Jupiter in Scorpio wants us to grow, transform ourselves, to ditch something that no longer works and to take on a new, deeper more meaningful challenge. "Let it go, and grow" shouts Jupiter, the Planet of Expansion in Scorpio the sign of transformation.

Saturn in Leo wants us to stand back a little and not be so gung-ho. Is this really transformation or just plain ego? Fun is all well and good, but why expand unless you know where to shine your light?

Saturn in Leo = Should
Jupiter in Scorpio = Could

Should you? Could you? Can you? Will you?

When it all comes down to it, the planet of expansion squares off (90 degrees) with the planet of constriction/restriction forcing us into a push-pull playoff where it's two steps forward and three back, or no steps forward or backwards at all.

Current events will show the desire of Authority to repress the playfulness of life, the fun and frolics. Saturn in Leo makes it a bitch being a boss these days - more responsibility weighs on you. If as the Top Dog you can't have any fun, then why the hell should your charges?

Jupiter in Scorpio says Death is good for all of us, so let's just jack this in and try something diferent. Saturn in Leo has manners and protocol. Jupiter in Scorpio wants it done yesterday. Saturn in Leo is fearful of how it comes across to the public. Jupiter in Scorpio cares about nothing less than 'what needs to be done to find a new way ahead'.

The two don't necessarily clash when you see that all they want to do is find the BEST POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO MOVE AHEAD WITH GREATER POWER (Scorpio) AND PURPOSE (Leo).

So situations will arise to help us battles with these sides of the same coin. It all comes down to POWER - after all Leo and Scorpio desire nothing less. Self-control versus the control of others. Can you control your own will or enforce your way onto everyone else?

Politically this is a minefield aspect - blame is around every corner. Arrogance is high, and conceit is full-blown. People complain but what is being DONE about things?

Self respect and the respect of everyone whose life you touch, is the order of this astrological season and cycle. Saturn in Leo is the Dictator. Jupiter in Scorpio is the stick of dynamite that brings down the whole building instead of rebuilding the interior. We lose the pretty facade (but when was Scorpio every about that) but perhaps also the traditional core and value. Progress becomes a pain in the ass because we lose the best of what we had.

So... to combine the two, we'll see many BIG events play out. Saturn wants us to slow down and find out WHO is leading and WHERE we're going. More importantly WHY? Like the actor, Leo can no longer Lord over others and steal the show. There are rules - scenes, and pages of a script. Is it working?

Jupiter can no longer pull us to greater heights by cutting off everything that's been before. Scorpio likes to end chapters. Scorpio wants to dig beneath. If we cut too deep, we bleed and healing slows down progress. How can the Leo star shine on stage if Scorpio is poking holes through the floor? We must tread carefully. Are we gaving up and ahead or are we looking back into the past with a sense of blame or fault?

Saturn says 'wait, slow down, polish and perfect your Leo skills'
Jupiter says 'get going, give it up, move on, grow and find your passion for more'

Neither wins, but both can compromise. Stay tuned for big news stories that sum up this planetary aspect. Push and Pull energies get things moving, once we know which ends to lead with (Leo will try very hard for this) and which side can allow a little lee-way in the name of the bigger picture (let's hope Scorpio can here, self control and willpower).

And for god's sake, let's just BREATHE... why are we in such a hurry?

Love,
Neil

And in other news...

The Sun-Pluto news continues as Unionists in Northern Ireland call for a public inquiry after an expelled Sinn Fein official admitted he was a British agent. More Pluto political intrigue.

Classic Sun-Pluto Conjunction: Political Espionage

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4536418.stm

Not only has the Senate now blocked some clauses of the Patriot Act that give the US government more powers of control (Pluto) but President Bush is now under fire, the same day the SUN CONJUNCTS PLUTO in the sign of honesty - Sagittarius.

Policy, Law and Integrity are Sagittarian. Lies, underworld activity, espionage and shadows are Pluto. When the SUN met Pluto as mentioned in my last post, it highlighted negative issues of Sagittarius and upheld the more positive.

Sagittarius demands honesty not only in its typical international reach but also on home soil. After all, honesty is honesty, truth is truth. The Sun helped Pluto dig up some deceit and it all surfaced in a grand dramatic Sagittarian fashion - witness the lawmakers on TV shouting and screaming and demanding Justice.

How perfect.

Bush is to give a speech on Sunday which will no doubt detail how he is doing 'everything for the good of the country' when in actual fact he allowed domestic spying (pluto) without our consent (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4538286.stm)

Of course, the very same lawmakers who passed the Patriot Act never even read the damn thing, but Sun-Pluto conjunctions always bring a showdown.

I wonder if we'll see an 'attack' somewhere which Bush will use as his launchpad to his little 'chat' with everyone this Sunday. Why does he need a few days to prepare his words? Waiting for some 'chance' encounter with Fate to help his hand?

Pluto relates to conspiracies but also on underhand action. So public figures are not above behind shady in their actions and motivations. Things get whitewashed, scapegoats made and manipulation reigns supreme.

Believe only your own personal experience right now - with the Sun and Pluto in Sagittarius - we truly can't trust anything we're told without knowing it fully for ourselves.

So over this weekend and to the end of the year, watch what your believe (Sagittarius). As a sign of freedom don't forget, the price to pay is as we have been told many times over, 'eternal vigilance' (pluto).

Keep a watchful eye. Honesty will always win out no matter what. And thats the beauty of this planetary aspect.

Love,
Neil

Spit it out! Full Moon at 23Gem - Dec 14 2005

The Full Moon in Gemini falls this Thursday, December 15, 2005 8:15am PST 23ยบ 48' opposing Pluto in Sagittarius. The day after, the Sun conjuncts Pluto at 25Sag.

When the Moon enters Gemini, we all have something to say. At the Full Moon, we want to the world to know. If we've been learning (Sag) we get to put our knowledge to use (Gem). If we've been asking questions (Sag) we suddenly get the answer (Gem). The question is - will we listen, and more importantly will we HEAR?

This Full Moon, lasting two weeks but always stronger in the first few days, will put a lot on our tongue which we can choose to swallow our words, or divert into Mars, the planet of energy, currently residing in Taurus, a sign connected to the throat.

Gemini loves information and Full Moons highlight new information. Emails increase and the volume of traffic and transportation of goods, peoples, ideas and information increases accordingly. It could mean big traffic jams, it could mean all your holiday gifts arrive at once.

Lines at post-offices will probably increase this week since everyone will feel the need to get it out on time. Cell phone use is sure to be intense - look for people arguing on their phones, or those cell-addicts who sit and talk really loudly on the bus, at the supermarket, or on the street.

People buzz around a lot more under a Gemini Full Moon. Expect greater activity or messages to or from siblings. People seem in two minds (The Twins) so they need to talk it out with someone.

It's a great time for letter-writing and communication in general - have that special 'talk', send the memo, how about a telegram to someone out of the country. Catch family up on your news with a long letter. Go through your emails and write to people you forgot about in all your daily busy-ness.

Full Moons as you know, increase emotional energies so be careful on the roads - Gemini rules cars, trains, planes and travel so you may find people get a little high-strung, the phenomena of 'road rage' was probably coined under a Gemini Moon, and this is compounded by a Full Moon in the sign.

Use the week of the Full Moon to get busy with writing, public speaking engagements, message-delivery and paperwork that's mounting. Clear out old newspapers, and old bills and paperwork you no longer need. Get rid of (Full Moons are perfect for this) old phone numbers of people you truly won't be calling anymore.

Keep an eye on where your mind goes - are you looping? Are you repeating old thought patterns that keep you stuck? If so, move on. Let it go, forgive and if that's not possible yet, then try and forget. Your mind is your greatest reality-shaping tool so train it to focus on what you WANT and not on being so reactionary.

Parties, social events and hang-out time should be fun. People get chatty now - some people you can't shut up. If you're a hermit, then be prepared to hear a LOT when you're out of the house - wear a walkman if you need to - but for the curious amongst you, keep an ear open to passing conversations, there's probably something symbolic you need to hear that may help you on YOUR path. You'd be surprised if you keep your ears open.

Geminis are set to become excited, irritable, tense or bouncy, it all depends on their charts but they're all going to be touched by a little bit more sentimentality. Emotions are obvious - so they're fired up to deal with stuff. Good times roll in for Twins who are open in their feelings and communicate where they're at.

Sagittarians are likely to be emotional drained if not ready to do battle with people. Since it's an opposing sign to Gemini, Sagittarians face themselves through other people, so life becomes a mirror at this full moon to show them how well they're dealing with THEIR stuff as opposed to pointing the finger of blame. Relationships are strained but they can fuel their passion into honest and open connections and finally let go of people and situations that are causing harm or pain. Compromise is essential or no one wins, Sag!

Pisces can get to work on sorting out their personal lives and cleaning up their homes (yes, that mess is getting too much, Fishies) and Virgos can finalize work projects and decide where to go now professionally. Watch out for an over-sensitive boss, fuel your stress into getting on top of things. Pisces & Virgos need to let go of family stress from Mom (Pisces) and Dad (Virgo) or whatever they represent in their lives - perhaps they're going through intense times. Something ends, in preparation for a new phase. Is your past or present causing you trouble? Face it, and move on this week.

The Sun conjuncts Pluto in Sagittarius the day after the Full Moon and Death arrives, to swipe away all that is no longer any use to us. Will you let it go or wil you be forced to give it up? Beliefs cause trouble - this we know from Pluto's fueling of Sagittarian 'holy-wars'. Does it really matter if someone 'doesn't get it'? Believe in something new - re-write your script. If someone becomes arrogant or preachy (which they will) step back into your own space and choose a new way.

The best of Sagittarius shines - optimism, adventurous spirits, freedom and the quest and search for Knowledge and 'truth'. But Pluto will strip away all the negatives now - arrogant, preachiness, a holier-than-thou attitude.

This goes for everyone!

Whatever is not truth, not honest and not free is set up for some major problems ahead. Pluto touches the Sun and some Sagittarius element of life dies. Just as the Archers are all asked to clean up their individual acts now, the world is asked to let go of the old belief system and to embrace a new truth - the truth that we are all brothers and sisters (Gemini).

This then, becomes the theme. How are you treating your neighbors (Gemini). Forget religion (sun, pluto,Sag) and treat they neighbor as you would want to be treated. It's a sound karmic principle that WILL be upheld now...no matter how well placed we may think we are.

Talk, talk, talk. Listen to me!? It must be the Gemini Full Moon about to beam full overhead. I expect to hear from you, by phone or email. I know I will be. Very soon.

Enjoy this Full Moon - watch what you say. Truly mean it. Mental magic is underway!

Love,

Neil

Hitting the fan: Mars Direct Dec 10

Bickering about money? Fights about materialism? is 'stuff' bogging you down? Itchy, tickly or sore throat? What about the bank? Short of cash? Scratching for change? Stuck in a rut?

Angry? Irritable? Stressed beyond belief? Ready to kill someone? Getting into arguments?
Ready to head for the countryside and retire? Ready to sue, stomp, destroy? Refusing to budge?

Welcome to Mars Direct. The planet of anger, aggression and sexual energy just stopped its retrograde motion and suddenly, in the sign of taurus, it's full speed ahead (which is next to impossible).

A sudden surge of energy is sure to cause some financial shifts - watch the news for bankruptcy, or issues with banks or people fighting over their 'goods'. Values become clear - we fight for what we hold dear to us. Perhaps we'll go too far, but Mars suddenly reminds us what we VALUE and DESIRE in the sign of Taurus.

Get close to the Earth. hug a tree. go barefoot. feel grass. sit and relax. Listen to Nature. Right now, not much else will make sense. This week, anger, assertiveness and energy is high - things are coming back into balance.

Where do your desires and values lie now?

This past month has been a reorientation on WHERE and HOW we use our energies. Wasted your time? Mucking around with the wrong stuff, people, priorities?

Material matters either matter greatly now or don't matter at all. Make sure whichever side of the coin you fall on, you're dedicated to spiritual matters above all else. When all changes (which it will) they remain.

in taurus, Mars wants what lasts forever. Values often do. What is 'reality' to you? It's what you invest your energy (Mars) into, Financial, emotional, physical and intellectual.

Feed only the fires you want to keep you warm this winter. The rest are embers of an old way, an old life. The best things in life truly are free, and that stuff is the stuff that refuses to change because it's tied to Universal Truth.

Enjoy the energy, just don't get caught up in all the 'stuff' that truly doesn't matter. Increase your spiritual sense of abundance and the physical delights are sure to follow!

Neil

Bigger is Better?

Epics are always Sagittarian by Nature. One need only look at the men behind the movies - Spielberg and Lucas both share Sagittarian Planets. Though I haven't yet peeked (let me know if you do before me) that Peter Jackson shares some strong Jupiter/Sag themes in his own chart. Why? Because he was the director behind The Lord of the Rings (for those who are interested, the 'Two Towers' installment came not long after the Twin Towers fell in New York (A Gemini city, during the time Saturn the planet of karma was moving through Gemini, opposing Pluto in Sagittarius, sign of religion and overseas).

Jackson is now directing King Kong - with Sag size always becomes a consideration. it's no wonder it's seen as the most Over The Top sign (Jupiter was all about big parties and lots of food - and partners).

So is it any surprise that Peter Jackson's new film King Kong has gone $32m (£18m) over budget but the studio remains happy, as the BBC reports? (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4384458.stm)

Not really.

Keep an eye out for more size issues. Sagittarius expands, pushing back the boundaries - but where do we draw the line?!

Love,
Neil

One for Freedom - Sagittarian Laws allow Gay Marriages

Under the spectacular and wide-reaching Sagittarian New Moon the UK finally decided to make gay Marriages legal. Legal proceedings of course are wholly Sagittarian in Nature. Under this particular New Moon (Sagittarius relates to overseas) more countries will begin to follow suit. After all, who wants to be left standing behind 'archaic old England'.

This is good news for all of us - and a point on the side of Freedom. Sagittarian principles of fairness, honesty and integrity are upheld. Of course Sagittarian Religion comes into play - and as Pluto the planet of Death and Rebirth continues his karmic cleansing of this sphere of life (since he's sneaking through Sagittarius while we speak) this new laws comes as a blow to 'traditional and outdated religious thinking that people should be separated from each other due to sexuality.

Three cheers to Sagittarius and even more to Pluto's insistence on honesty, fair dealings and justice.

Love,
Neil

The Next Grand Adventure! Sagittarius New Moon Dec 2

The New Moon falling in Sagittarius this Friday Dec 2, is the key to an even greater adventure in our lives and in the world picture.

Sagittarius is open spaces, big adventures, high energy, freedom, independence and Big Ideas! Since it's also the sign of Religion, Overseas, Law and Education look to new doors opening in these areas - from new laws introduced to unite countries and people from differing belief systems, to the delivery of more old-world concepts and archaic principles. Sagittarius remember is the sign of the holier-than-tho preacher!

What perfect timing for the movie release of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' on Dec 9 (C.S Lewis it's author was born with a Sagittarius Moon). A story full of Sagittarian principles - independent children, vast open land, the issues of honesty and nobility.

Interestingly enough, the 9th House (Sagittarius House) for Sagittarius itself falls in Leo - and it's no surprise that a LION features strong in this particular adventure. How symbolic.

For those of you who are curious - find Leo in the natural order of houses for your own sign for more tell-tale clues as to your Solar Nature (and where you shine) just as your Leo House in your birth chart is a force of creative power.

For example - for Aries, the natural Leo House is the FIFTH - making Aries ego-oriented, creative, dynamic and fun to be around. For Cancer, the SECOND HOUSE makes Crabs particular about money, good savers and also people who hold on stubbornly to what they value.
For Scorpio, Leo makes the TENTH House - givng Scorpio a craving for power and a natural right to be in control.

Make sense? try it with your own sign to discover more.
Of course the House Sagittarius Falls in will be home to the NEW MOON this Friday - and a new opportunity awaits here. A door opens - or at least you get to see a new one. Freedom. More independence.

Enjoy wherever this next Adventure leads you. Keep an eye out for more dramatic and extravagant Sagittarius goings on this weekend!

Neil

Jupiter, Sagittarius, ThanksGiving and more

Did you know that Holidays reflect the seasons they fall in along with the signs?

Take Halloween (Scorpio) with its masks, death, leaves falling, dead pumpkins, gutting one thing to make a new life out of it (Pluto).

Christmas some could say reflects Capricorn the sign it falls under - a sign of materialism ruled by Saturn (think Ebenezer Scrooge).

Easter of course falls at Aries time - a sign of new beginnings, rebirth - eggs, and the infamous 'Lamb of God;' theme (Aries the Ram).

Right now we celebrate Thanksgiving in the States. A full-on Sagittarius JUPITER affair if ever there was one. Did you know it falls on the 3rd Thursday of the month every year.

3 is the Number of Jupiter.

Thursday is Jeudi (in french) = Jupiter's Day.

Did we plan this or is it cosmic coincidence or something more ingrained in our collective conscious.

Sagittarius season where we find ourselves currently is about having fun, freedom, travel, adventure, and large portions - of food, optimism, daring and independence.

Enjoy!

Love,
Neil

About Turn...

Tomorrow I'll be RE-filming some scenes from one of the short films I have been working on. Turns out some of the footage didn't come out as clear as was hoped for.

I'll be adding to the Mercury Retrograde news sections in the blog below, so check back often to see what's new and what's been added.

I've heard from numerous people who are having problems with documents - closing on deals, getting paperwork together. Typos, mind-changes, about-turns - all part and parcel of the Mercury Retro period, of course. Still, it's no comfort when you're in the middle of it all, eh.

Hang in there - if we slow down long enough, we'll see that things are actually work in our favor. A friend of mine recently checked in to say he was flying back to Seattle from Louisiana - and so missed the devastation in the area, although he did lose his home.

Another friend was telling me she wasn't able to get her flight to Paris arranged - but then realized she had missed the heavy rioting going on there currently.

We're blessed in what we miss sometimes. And often we don't even get to know it. These stories reminded me of the magic of the Universe - we're always in the right place at the right time for what we need to learn and experience. Why do we doubt?

Sexual Intelligence

Just days after the Scorpio New Moon, Kim Cattrall (the sexy Samantha in 'Sex and the City' - the Scorpio themes continue) released her new book 'Sexual Intelligence'. Either she has her finger on the current 'vibe' or has an Astrologer. Either way, it was the ideal time for its launch, days after the New Moon in the sign that positively drips with sexual energy.

On the same day, Anne Rice released her new book in her 'reborn' life - (all about Jesus). Religion, sex, death always figure strongly in the Scorpionic life-tale. Anne of course is best known for her vampire tales - with social taboos such as blood-letting, sexual feasting, lust and immortality. The spread of something blood-borne of course relates heavily to the current 'sex = death' theme experienced worldwide with the constantly promoted fears of HIV, herpes and other blood carried viruses.

Thanks to Shawn (you can check him out at his blog at http://first-stop-pluto.typepad.com/) for spotting these further Scorpio-themed news stories. The archetypes of the Zodiac continually imprint themselves on our world - once you spot the patterns, it's a lot of fun.

I will have to research Kim's birth data. I do know that Anne Rice is a Scorpio born, with venus in Scorpio. How fitting then that this season should see her own rebirth. Great timing both of ya!

Neil

Nov 1 - New Moon in Scorpio

The New Moon always brings a flood of energy. Sometimes so much that it wipes you out. I noticed my energy shifting around this one, did you? Once we pay attention and live by the lunar cycles (as opposed to calendar months) it's amazing how big things start to happen by magic around these times. Try it - grab a calendar and start spotting the trends.

The New Moon always brings NEW stuff so it's easy to remember. Maybe it releases you from a messy situation. Maybe you quit something, to try something new. Maybe you renew vows, or commitment, maybe you give it all in and try something totally different.

This months New Moon falls in Scorpio - asking us to move towards our Passion. What drives you, and makes you feel alive? People are withdrawing during this season, things rumble beneath the surface. Whatever drives us, perhaps unknowingly, fuels our entire direction now.

So, use this two weeks to ignite your passion. Get deep, dig under the surface for what's bothering you, what's NOT being said. Got sex? Work on improving your sex life, under this New Moon you're sure to find some way to fire it up again. Visit an adult store, watch a porn. Try a new move. Make a move. Go on a murder mystery weekend. Rent a scary film (who cares if Halloween has come and gone).

Scorpios are finding this a great time to get things in perspective and work out what they want now. Taurus discovers new way to see old relationships, and perhaps new faces on the horizon, compromise essential. Leo finds a new security in their world, and a facing up to old patterns to finally relinquish them. Aquarius, the final fixed sign asks the Big Questions, and faces a new choice, a new sense of power and job shifts that bring more responsibility and control, or else issues with higher-ups.

The water signs Cancer and Pisces find this a very freeing time, when more fresh air blows into their lives, so they can enjoy life a little more, break out and let their hair down - finally!

We all can start those new ventures, shake it up, try something different. Scorpio New Moons are very private, so there's no need for a drum roll. Go about your business but make a change inside, and your entire world will shift accordingly. That's the power of creating your reality.

Be passionate, wear red and black, be 100% in or don't bother. Give it your all. Be sexy. Dress to impress. Be real. Enjoy your body. Use your money instead of the other way around. Trust. Commit.

New Moons = New.

In Scorpio, the sign of the Phoenix, the ashes are smouldering and we're ready to rise again. Each moment is a New Life. Make of it what you will.

Scorpio Smooches,
Neil

Religious Ripples, Travel tedium and Philosophical Friction - Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius, Nov 1

Even those with no basic knowledge of Astrology have either heard of it, or know it’s a time of glitches. Type in “Mercury Retrograde” in any search engine and you’ll be inundated with vast examples of what can happen during this period. Astrology is all about observation, patterns, cycles.

This one’s back - on November 14, 2005 to be exact when Mercury, turns reteograde in Sagittarius, the sign of the Archer, sending communications, travel, appointments, mail and the www into a laughable period of confusion and chaos.

Sagittarius is the sign of travel – so look to travel plans going belly-up. If you’re going anywhere, have a backup plan. Know your route, expect to change it. Your method of travel may have to change. Gas prices may suddenly spike. Car insurance may suddenly shift (avoid buying a new car now but do take yours in for a check-up). No doubt the airline industry will receive another blow or a whole host of problems, probably relating to the computer or scanning equipment.

On May 15, 2002, the very day Mercury stationed and went retrograde, United Airlines unintentionally sold round-trip tickets for less than $25 on its website for about 45 minutes. Maybe we’ll get to be so lucky again.

Sagittarius relates to gambling, so the lotto could star in the news headlines with some confusion surrounding tickets. Or perhaps Vegas receives its share of funky slots. Again, we can only hope. Throw education in the pool (possible strikes or stories involving Universitiy ‘rules’ or problems with examinations or results) and it’s sure to be a fun time. Lega issues always surface during this time – from Judge Judy small claims courts to full-scale media extravanganzas. Don’t expect the aniticpated result. It’s anyone’s guess now. Let the drama begin!

Overseas issues from the past reappear – as do people from our past. Is there a foreigner in your life scheduled to make a reappearance? The overseas counts of the The presidential election on November 7, 2000 is a perfect example of Mercury shifting direction. Look at the lost ballot and the ‘hung chads’, Mercury began its retrograde movement on October 18 and ended it on election night, November 7. Astrologers watched and laughed as confusion reigned over what was a legal vote and what wasn't, missing ballots, disagreement over whether ballots should be recounted mechanically or by hand, frustrating delays, miscommunication, and six weeks of legal battles over the close Florida vote that brought about a decision by the U. S. Supreme Court. The perfect time for a little ‘jiggery-pokery’ on the part of those who wanted to create their own desired result.

Guaranteed, since the election fell then, more presidential ‘errors’ or Mercury deceit will surface during any further Mercury Retrograde periods. Keep a look out.

Religion – ah, a must favored area of contention on Planet Earth. Mercury retrograde could throw the churches into some major areas of disagreement. The past returns and we’re urged to slow down and retrace our steps. Maybe it’s time for religion to eat some more humble pie?

This awkward period begins a few days before the actual turning point (as Mercury slows) and lasts for three weeks or so, until December 4, when the Winged Messenger Mercury reached his direct station. At this time he halts and begins his return to direct motion through the zodiac.
Everything finally comes out in the wash by December 21, 2005, when he passes the point when he first went retrograde.

Mercury is concerned with listening, observing, thinking, and communicating. He rules sibling relationships, aunts and uncles, travel plans, vehicles, information, appointments, sales, and postal services.

Three or four times each year, Mercury appears to reverse his path. During Mercury retrograde cycles, thought processes, decision-making, all forms of communication, and transportation move into a strangely unpredictable state. It’s not a great time to launch something - (Sagittarius rules publishing so it’s not a good time to launch your new book for example) unless it is connected with something from the past that you must re-experience.
You’re advised to postpone starting major new enterprises, signing documents, buying and selling, and big decisions/ commitments until after Mercury turns direct in motion (by Dec 21 at the latest).

If you DO happen to make a major decision, face the fact you’ll probably change your mind (or change on you). Phones or internet connections made now seem to get cross-wired or take ages. Leases signed now turn out to be difficult to get out of, or not what you wanted. Loopholes do exist, but the new job you take on may cause issues you didn’t forsee. The question is – are you SURE about this. Think, then think again.

New information is received now – so stay open and don’t narrow your field of vision. Commiting yourself either verbally or by signature two or three weeks prior to, during, and a couple of days following a Mercury retrograde cycle is usually a waste of time.

Schedule changes, delays, telephone message and mail mix-ups, scrambled e-mail, misunderstandings, transportation problems, and keys misplaced or locked in the car are all fun adventures during this time. Forewarned is forearmed, so laugh it off wherever possible and for goodness sake slow down (and wear your belt).

The answer? Take a mental time out. Nothing is THAT important we need to scramble to do it NOW NOW NOW. The Universe doesn’t work that way. Opportunities will exist after this period, so theres truly no hurry. The ratrace people and those who love the game, will push and only lose out now. You’ll gain by going with the flow.

The word “redo” figures strongly now - revise, research, rethink, recount, reconsider, reorganize, reevaluate, rewrite, reschedule, recheck. Save your computer information – back up hard drives, and stick to what you’ve already done. EDIT, POLISH, PRACTICE. Don’t add new material. Finish up what you’ve started. In short – CATCH UP WITH YOURSELF.

If Mercury is your planetary ruler (Gemini & Virgo) ... or if you work in Mercury-related occupations--journalists, printers, stationers, computer programmers, telephone operators, postal employees, radio and television announcers, teachers, clerical workers, and those connected with transportation will feel this phase most strongly.

The past always returns now – so keep an eye out for a call or email from an old friend. Is your past ‘clean’? Any loose ends will appear, so take care of them, this time round. Or wrap it up once and for all by forgivng and forgetting (Mercury = memory)> Let go of the past and it will let go of its hold on you.

How do you respond to crisis? With anger and resistance? Or with an increased awareness of the continual necessity to shift gears or look at life with renewed vision? A Fire retrograde will test your ability to respond to life with spontaneous energy, and to be more creative with your decision to change.

Sagittarius is a fun, adaptable sign – adventurous, philosophical and fun. This should help us out. Don’t get so fiery if things don’t go your way. Find a new way to play. Sagittarius rules HUMOR – this will be our saving grace when change comes calling and we’re knocked off our game. It’s good once in a while to see we’re not in COMPLETE control. Who’s to say the delay isn’t for the best? Sometimes the red light, the road block, the unset email and the unspoken thought really do help us out. If we’re too proud, egotistical and domineering (Sagittarius can get preachy and holier-than-thou) we may miss out ona golden opportunity now that comes to us by screwing up our ‘best laid’ plans.

As always let’s sit and watch and wait and see what happens. I hope wherever you end up, you’re stranded on the side of the road with greener grass (is your cup half full?) and a buddy or two to laugh it off with. Cars breakdown, not people. If you’re sick and tired, take a chill pill and email me in the morning…and if I don’t’ reply, email again. You know how Mercury Retrograde can be….

Love,
Neil

Astrological Sex Survey

Calling all guys!

I need your help for a new upcoming book on Men and their Mars - what men seek sexually, what gratifies them, who they are attracted to and what they like doing in and out of bed.

Am I nosy? Always - but it's all for a good cause - it's anonymous, and I am gathering notes on the whole crazy business of sex and attraction. I know we'll all be surprised with the results.

What better season to ask sexual questions and what better time to launch this venture then under a New Moon in Scorpio, the sign of sex and research. So i put this out there to you now.

Check out the main site for more details, or email me your birth date, what type of person you're attracted to, and what you like to do sexually. (or fill out the form on my site - it's faster!) Simple. I don't need names, and it's all confidential so spill the beans please, in as much detail as you can muster.

I'll give a signed copy of the final book and free readings to an email address I randomly select after the survey is over. I'll run it for six-months, so please jump on board.

Many Thanks guys!

Jupiter enters Scorpio

I just got off a shoot for a short Horror film. How appropriate is that for an intro into Jupiter, the planet of Opportunity entering Scorpio.

What will JUPITER entering SCORPIO bring? An expansion (Jupiter) of pornography (Scorpio). People taking more (Jupiter) sexual (Scorpio) risks (Jupiter)? For certain, sex sells and in great quantity coming up ahead.

Jupiter is good fortune to us folks on Earth, he teaches us something we value and appreciate (as opposed to Saturns lessons which are hard to swallow). So we may learn something new about how we're using our power or misusing it. If Jupiter is our Education, perhaps we'll get a few pointers in how to shape up, get rid of bad habits - by first overdoing what we shoudn't be doing.

Let's break it down - Jupiter expands whatever it enters. In Scorpio - power games become pretty obvious. Sex becomes a big deal - we want more and oh, boy will more be available.

Death is Scorpio - so funeral homes may start overcharging for the service of being Dead. Nice, eh? News of new opportunities in the land of the deceased may crop up - remember the TV series Six Feet Under - we'll see more being made of death, the afterlife and all that goes into the stranger, mysterious and more taboo areas of life.

Taboos. There's a Scorpio word. Jupiter loves a new experience and Scorpio takes us into some shady areas of life. Jupiter will exagerrate these to show us whether we control them or they control us - are we being led by our desires or are we leading them.

Metaphysical avenues will open up - there'll be more interest in Tarot, Psychic work, Astrology, ghosts, mystery - horror may open up some new possibilities - what will the new breed of Horror flicks show (some Jupiter lesson we need to learn). Stay tuned.

Scorpio relates to Tax - could we have a new tax break? Who knows under the current administration. Jupiter blows things up out of proportion so we may end up up-in-arms about some Scorpio areas. Death (euthanasia) laws (jupiter) may again shift, Death becomes Headline News - but not ina way we'd expect. Something surrounding Scorpio death matters could actually have us laughing - stories of weird things happening at funerals perhaps, or just some public deaths being made fun of - Jupiter is the clown, and Scorpio is all serious - an interesting combination. If we all know the end is coming to us at some point, then we can relax and enjoy what we have right here, right now.

New ways to look at old skeletons in the closet is our other theme - Jupiter loves knowledge. Scorpio is all things hidden, so imagine new metal detectors being invented. Airports could well start implementing more invasive tactics (Scorpio) to learn (Jupiter) what you have hidden (Scorpio) beneath your clothes.

Jupiter is our tour guide. Wherever he is, we learn, we want more of and we grow. Scorpio is sex. You can only imagine. Death teaches us a lot too. Power is useful if you know the ins and outs of it. So we'll get to see some pretty grand things in this cycle - and I'm excited (but then I have Scorpio Rising so I'll be flying by the seat of my Jupiter pants not long from now).

I'll keep us up to speed on what happens as Jupiter moves in, Oct 26. Keep an eye on the news and see for yourself what is being suggested. Jupiter doesn't do things by halves. Scorpio doesn't either. Two energies poles apart but both seeking the Truth - thats what we'll get - and lots of it. Dive beneath the surface and you'll discover that Truth Really Does Set You Free. What if it's hidden in some dark stuff? Do you have the courage to look?

Let your Journey into Truth take you wherever you need to go. Bon Voyage!

Love,
Neil

Sun enters Scorpio Oct 23

The time of Scorpio is upon us.

That means our focus shifts from the airy balance of Libra, to the watery depths of Scorpio. Watch a shift in the news as we move into Oct 23 - Scorpio connects us to all things associated with endings - death, completion, a chapter closing and loss.

The trees are losing their leaves, we all lose the heat of summer. Many of us begin to desire change in our own lives - a physical move (mine comes soon since I have Scorpio Rising, I'll be heading to CA at the end of November, just as we enter Sagittarius the Sign of Travel), a change of job, relationship or just the urge to start over.

I'm staying tuned for these news to hit the headlines. Another Scorpio biggie - Sex. When JUPITER - the planet of expansion - enters Scorpio on Oct 26, Scorpios themselves will suddenly find their life growing accordingly - waist sizes may increase, the horizon expands and they take off (literally) begin a new course of study, and seek out more than they have already. Good luck and Bon Voyage to them. We'll talk more on that soon.

For the rest of us, as we enter Scorpio, we're asked to let go of what has gone before. Scorpio is depth emotion, self-control, the removal of that which is no longer any use, the recycling of the same stuff and the starting over - rising from the ashes like the legendary Phoenix we associate with this sign.

Scorpio. I love this sign. You know where you are with Scorpio - when they know where they are themselves. And they usually know. They may not always like it, but Scorpios know. Thats' their beauty.

So we'll know soon enough. As the news focuses on death, destruction, Autumn (or 'Fall' as it's known here in the States, how symbolic for Scorpio, with connotations of Eden and the Fall - and more interestingly in that Taurus relates to Earth/Eden and is Scorpio's opposite sign) endings, survival, life-after-death and Halloween (Scorpio masks, celebration of the deceased) we'll see signs of life-after-the-storm (also symbolic since the hurricane approaches the East coast right now).

Pluto, Scorpios ruler, wipes things out, and destroys that which we no longer need. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? So whoever is left standing during Scorpio time is strong. Whatever leaves, is not weak, it's not just right for us on our paths. What remains was always meant to. It's as simple as that.

Scorpio's Mantra - "I will Survive!"

Enjoy the last few days of Libra Season, and prepare for the darkness of Scorpio, with some humor, some spooky masks, some soul-searching, cleansing, detoxing and (fingers crossed) some damn good sex.

Love,
Neil

The Song We All Will Sing

I came across this article online tonight and thought it worth sharing (in particular, the last paragraph) regarding a theory on the Mayan Calendar end in 2012 and what it potentially means for us all.

I find it poignant and worthy food for thought during this time when Planet Earth and all who ride her, begins to find a Voice.

Be mindful of what you're singing, each day is another note in our final piece.

Neil

Explosive Emotions and Collective Change. Lunar Eclipse Oct 17 2005 at 24 Aries

We complete 2005's Eclipse pair with the Lunar Eclipse, falling at 24 Degrees Aries on Oct 17.

Phew! As an Astrologer you're meant to pride yourself on being ahead of the game, mapping energy patterns and working out what is likely to transpire below us on Planet Earth.

This Eclipse is personal to me - my Natal Venus is at 24Aries along with my South Node (past lives). It will be interesting to see how this will all play out. I did get "into it" with someone today which I should have realized and backed out of, but with my Arian South Node and Venus, it seemed all too easy to fall into old (south node) aggressive (Aries) tendencies. Another lesson learned.

That's the key now for everyone. Aries isn't an easy going sign. With a Lunar Eclipse highlighting certain facets of our lives that need changing, these changes won't happen quietly. True, we may pass this Eclipse time as we have many times before, with nothing major on the planetary radar, but somehow I don't forsee this, at this time.

Before 2006 arrives, we're set for some major shifts. Emotions are about to be pulled, chains yanked, and drama used as a vehicle to manipulate the masses again. People are waking up, but more scheduled 'situations' are likely before the numbers of awakened souls reached that point when we'll be able to see through the shenanigans currently playing out.

Lunar Eclipses bring up emotions, old habits, past life issues, and childhood conditioning. What was then is now and it's back to be resolved. I guess since this is personal in my own Chart, I'm the spokesperson for this Change and I feel it quite profoundly and intensely inside.

Under this Eclipse I predict news of more weather shifts - possible fires, explosions, volcanic eruptions, road rage, widespread anger. The trouble is, Mars the planetary ruler of the Aries Eclipse, is Retrograde - making it doubly difficult to move energy outwardly in a healthy way.

Repression flares up and is expelled once Mars goes Direct on Dec 10. So I'm sure this may just well be a Red Christmas. And with Mars in the sign of the taurus, the Bull, a time of red rags and much charging.

Back to this Eclipse. Let it go For goodness sakes just let it go. Something is passing from your life. Wherever 24Aries falls in your Natal Chart is a place where you get another piece of the jigsaw. You'll get emotional over it, for a reason. Clue into that reason, for it's important. It's something to be dissolved, resolved, let go of, or wrapped up. Basically, if it's not happening in the next couple of months on that front, forget it. Sometimes we have no choice but to give in. Only then can we truly win.

People get erratic on Full Moons, but this Eclipse makes it all the more important to let things slide. Aries is fast - so speed kills, as we'll see in many news reports this week and within the next month. Energy, when misdirected causes a whole host of problems. In many ways, this Eclipse is like standing too close to the firework, or dropping a match in a fireworks shed. Basically, there's nothing you can do but get away, run for cover, and let it blow over!

Eileen Nauman has a splendid article on the best ways around this Eclipse, to work with it but escape unscathed - so check out the link on my website for more.

No matter what happens (or doesn't happen) we're cleansing, it's a planetary detox once more. Some things will be shed, some souls moving onto higher levels, and us folk down here will be asked to once more relinquish our hold on things that are no longer healthy for us.

How can you tell how bad an addiction is for you?Not by the effect it's having on your life, but on the aftermath of its passing. That's a clue on how this Eclipse works. Give it up willingly, or face a fight which may not loosen its grip for quite some time.

On the flip side, this is an amazing time to really set yourself free, to enjoy who you are, to be hyour own crazy self, to fly solo even if you're with someone, or to cherish the Moments we have - together or apart. It really doesn't matter. All good relationships have equal time together and apart - find yourself , then share what you find. It's a game of win-win and a team-effort at happiness.

My wish for this Eclipse, as the Moon sits on my South Node and Venus, is to remember all Past Loves we have all been lucky enough to have and hold, and to send Love to all who have crossed our paths, but then to look at who we are now, and to love the New Us, the new soul who is ready for new travels, new experiences, and new quests.

Be Aggressive in your pursuit of Peace and Comfort, but be peaceful in the face of aggression.

This is the way forward, while kissing goodbye to what is passing behind.

Drop me a note and let me know how it has been or is going for you!
Aries Eclipse Fireworks and Fun,
Neil

Mars Retrograde (Oct 1 - Dec 10) Anger Management

It's easy to get pissed off, when Mars turns retrograde. After all, he's the planet representing Aggression, Push, Drive, Thrust, Assertion, Masculinity, Violence, War, Weapons, Action and Wham Bam thank you Ma'am.

Lord knows I've been antsy lately as Mars squares my natal Mars. Talk about a lesson in Energy.

In the sign of Taurus (fixed earth) mountains truly are immovable, but do we stand and butt out heads against them, dig our heels in like Taurus insists. Problems remain, as does Taurus, when Mars moves backwards through the sign of the Bull.

Patience. I think that about sums it up right now. Whatever you're going through (no doubt, financial delays - manifested in throat or thyroid problems, along with the need to express ones true feelings instead of repressing or swallowing our Truth) face the fact that progress may not be as easy as you'd think.

Have we missed a few steps on our heat-seeking Mars mission? Whatever you're trying to achieve, building blocks and a step-by-step approach can't be avoided. Not now, with the planet of Energy re-directed inwards in a sign known for its slow, steady way movement.

People with their Natal Mars in the other fixed signs Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio are bound to experience the tension like no one else - Aquarian Mars want to be free to act how they choose, butting heads with others around them who try and slow them down, Taurus style. Can they find financial freedom? Leo Mars want their way and say, but delays cause ego problems - how can you be on top if you're unsure of your footing? Scorpio Mars want to get about tearing down useless ways of living while Taurus Mars asks us to grow and build on what we have. Go back over your Taurus foundations before you call in the Bull -dozer.

With planets in your chart in Taurus, Mars goes back over these retrograding, to help you unlock exactly what value it has for you. You simply can't miss it - Mars hammers on it again and again until Dec 10 so you understand what it is about that planet that makes you mad or fires you up for action.

Emotions are Energy in Motion (e-motion) and Mars moving backwards helps us see how we use our vital energy force. Do you have enough now, or are you tired, exhausted, burned out.
Mars manifests in headaches, cuts, bruises, bangs, scrapes. In Taurus, he brings throat issues, thyroid problems, from staying too long in the same place.

Are you furnishing a rut, or refusing to settle and secure your life enough?

Anger Management is under way worldwide under this current transit. Whichever House Mars is moving through in your Birth Chart is an area in need of your attention. Don't overdo it, but don't underdo it either - if you're angry, what are you not getting that you need? What are you not doing that you should be? And where can you learn more patience and practicality?

I hope this period is productive, because it sure as hell doesn't seem to be peaceful. Check your checkbooks, balance your bank accounts and keep a little in reserve. Cautious calculated action beats flying off the handle.

And as I said on air lately, 'Choose Your Battles'. Sometimes you win by refusing to get into it at all. At least there'll be something left to salvage later on. So be wise.

Mars salutes,
Neil

Neil D Paris

Welcome to the New World Astrology Forum!

Greetings Planet Earth!

With so much going on planetary-wise, and with so many new radio faces and places asking so many old and new questions, I thought it about time to join the 'blogging' world and set up my own place where you can gain access into my personal journey.

Here you'll find new pieces of information as I research and discover them. You can add your own thoughts or pose a question and generally share in the flavor of my website which has always been as a collection of information, pooled energy and shared ideas, thoughts, opinions and knowledge.

So, welcome, it's now Oct 13 2005 on the old, old calendar we are currently using. We're entering a New Night in the Mayan Calendar (the fifth night) which begins in Nov 2005.
We are headed towards a Lunar Eclipse in Aries on Oct 17 and Mars is currently Retrograde in Taurus. Phew. Let's just say this year doesn't end on a quiet note.

I look forward to sharing more with you as and when it downloads into my hard-drive brain. It is currently 6:01am and Uranus electrifies me to stay up all night once more. I'm glad of it, since it gave me a chance to connect with you in this way.

Here's to the Adventure!
Love,
Neil
